Our technology is extensively used for the manufacturing of engine components, such as cylinder heads, intake manifolds, and engine blocks. It is currently used within the development cycle of engines for passenger cars and for the production of race engines.
Engine Block
The intricate shape of an engine block, including its cooling passages and oil recirculation lines is not an easy manufacturing undertaking. The ProMetal process allowed this engine block to be cast in approximately 3 days from the time the geometry for the mold and core package was received, allowing the completely finished engine block to be available in only one week.
Intake Manifold
The manufacture of a functional intake manifold is key to evaluate an Engine's efficiency under operating condition. This intake manifold was produced in about 5 days, after the mold and core package was designed.
