An innovative production process

The ProMetal RCT technology features:

  • Industry proven casting materials.
  • Online mixing of sand and hardener: No premixing and no reservoir refills required.
  • Additive manufacturing of molds and cores.
  • Proven printing technology for precise dosing of the binding agent.
  • No support structures needed.
  • No specialized postprocessing required (besides cleaning).
  • Finished parts are generally available immediately for casting.
  • Capable of complex internal details and structures, otherwise unattainable by traditional methods.

Construction phase

The molds and cores are built in a layered fashion. The same building principle is used with the metal process (click here for more information)

Each layer is comprised of two materials added sequentially:

 1. Molding Sand
A recoater applies the pre-mixed molding sand onto the entire building platform.

  2. Binder
The printhead selectively dispenses the resin in the sand.
The activator contained in the sand hardens the binder and realizes the object, one layer at a time,

       from bottom to top.

1. Binder print:
The Binder is printed on activated sand
2. New Layer:
The construction platform is lowered
3. Sandjob:
A new layer of activated sand is applied
4. Repeat:
1-3 is repeated until the workpiece is finished
5. Finishing:
Remove unbound sand, Metal is casted
